Job Description: Procurement Manager - Permanent    General Responsibilities  Part of the Supply Chain Management team, home for all aspects of the clients capability associated with sourcing, procurement, warehousing, logistics and Supplier management. The incumbent will manage a team of Buyers focused on the procurement of Design/Build systems, Build to Print systems and Commodity items used in our clients projects. Additionally the incumbent will perform the duties of Lead Buyer on complex Build to Print and Design Build Systems.  Specific Departmental or Project Duties            Overall responsibility for effectively managing the departmental resources. This includes training, coaching, providing effective leadership and motivation, as well conducting talent management reviews and succession planning.            Responsible for the hiring, training and evaluating of department personnel.            Ensuring that all Procurement activities are carried out in accordance with the clients Purchasing Company Standard Procedure (CSP)            Review purchase orders for compliance with corporate policy            Develop and implement Purchasing Key Performance Indicators (KPI).             Lead Buyer for complex systems, including the negotiation of Contractual Terms and Conditions, Payment Terms and Milestones, Payment Guarantees (Bonds and Letters of Credit)            Ownership of the Procurement module within the clients ERP system (MS Dynamics SL). Responsible to drive continuous improvement of this system.            Work closely with the Director Supply Chain Management to develop and implement Procurement policy and strategies.            Develop and promote best practices in procurement.            Manage the RFQ process, often involving multiple International Suppliers             Generate Purchase Orders and process Purchase Order amendments as required.            Regular interaction with Engineering and other stakeholders, participate in meetings regarding future purchasing requirements and current status reporting.  Skills            Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills along with effective problem solving, negotiation and risk management are necessary to succeed in this role.             Track record of significantly reducing costs and also improving a companys processes and corporate purchasing programs             The ability to understand and work through complex commercial arrangements with new and existing suppliers.             A team player who demonstrates determination, energy and enthusiasm.             Demonstrated flexibility, willing to work in an evolving/growing and challenging environment.             Good working knowledge of computer applications such as the MS Office Suite.             Experienced in the development and presentation of reports.             Extensive knowledge of purchase order systems and related software.             Experience using MS Dynamics SL (ERP) is an asset             Deep understanding of the principles of vendor management.             Ability to manage multiple priorities.   Education and Qualifications            Post-secondary degree in Commerce, Business Administration or Engineering.             CPP or SCMP designation (PMAC), or working towards completion.   Experience            Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience as a Purchasing Manager, preferably in an Engineering environment.             3+ years experience buying multi-million dollar engineering systems on an international basis.     Interested candidates are invited to submit their resume in confidence to Tom Tevendale at [Apply for this Opportunity]  Please refence Job order number 36301086   Modis would like to thank all candidates for submitting to this job opportunity, however, only those with the above qualifications clearly identified in their resumes will be contacted for further instruction and submission to the client.   On January 1, 2011 Ajilon Consulting and Modis joined forces to create a true powerhouse in the field of IT staffing and consulting.
