JOB SUMMARY:Purchases materials or other goods and coordinates activities involved with procuring products and services. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1.Maintain a material plan based on backlog, new customer orders, inventory levels, minimum order quantities, and lead times. 2.Determine material requirements from the MRP report, customer sales forecast and orders, production schedules and bills of material.3.Obtain vendor quotes and negotiate for the best possible price.4.Procure materials at the highest quality, lowest possible cost, with consistent on-time delivery to meet schedules.5.Expedite orders and requests as needed and communicate the status to all relevant departments6.Consistently update records related to items purchased, costs, delivery, quality, and inventory.7.Resolve non-conforming items with users and vendors to determine the root cause and take corrective action.8.Develop and implement material sourcing strategies9.Build and maintain lasting relationships with suppliers with creating mutually beneficial improvement goals for long-term growth10.Develop mid-level technical expertise in commodities purchased and associated product linesADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Assist with the development of procedures and tools for product cost tracking and reporting.2.Keeps abreast of market trends, changes in business practices in assigned markets, new materials entering market, etc.3.May work with manufacturers or persuade potential vendors to undertake the manufacturing of custom-designed items according to user's specifications.4.Perform other job related duties (such as purchasing reports) as neededQUALIFICATIONS:1.Four year degree in business/purchasing or equivalent.2.Five years related manufacturing industry experience.3.Thorough working knowledge of purchasing policies, processes and procedures.4.Strong negotiation skills5.Proficient in MS Office and Outlook6.Excellent interpersonal relations and written/oral communication skills.7.Self-motivated, persistent, hands-on result oriented8.Well organized with the ability to multi-task9.Strong sense of urgency with the ability to take initiative and accomplish goals10.High degree of professionalism and maturity with good judgmentNeed someone energetic, accountable and with future potentialANSWER FOLLOWING QUESTION WITH COVER LETTER ATTACHED1.
